秋から冬にかけて、市街地から見る夕陽は西表島に沈みます。
しかし最北端の平久保まで足を伸ばせば水平線に沈む夕陽を見ることができます。
 
From autumn through winter, the setting sun viewed from Ishigaki City disappears behind Iriomote Island. But venture north to Hirakubo, at the northern tip of Ishigaki Island, and you can watch the sun sink directly into the horizon.
